Hi. I am due to have the pneumonia vaccine tomorrow (the one you have for life, not a yearly booster). Has anyone had this and did you have any side effects? I don’t know what it’s called and I am concerned as to whether it will do more harm than good.
Thank you.

When I first had it I was told it was for life, but it turns out this is not true if one has certain long-term conditions.
My vasculitis consultant advised me (insisted would be a better word) that with the immune system suppression treatment for vasculitis I should repeat the pneumonia vaccine every five years.
Hi. My Rheumatologist has me take the new pneumonia (Pneumovax I believe) shot 3 weeks ago and unfortunately I had an reaction at the injection site that spread doWn towards my elbow. It took about 2 weeks to go down. I’ve had another Pneumonia shot 5 years ago with no issues (Prevnar). I think it’s different for each person.
Hi... Just to say I have had the pneumonia jab a few time during the 10 years I've had WG. The last one lasted 2 years.. Never had any side effects from the jab .
