I sometimes carry them for an extra bit of energy when out and overwhelmed with pain and/or fatigue, so that I could get to a seat or home.
I recently saw "mystery diagnosis" [an american tv documentary programme] where a man had a condition where he would have extremes from muscular pains to falling and unable to move.
[the techky bit - his body was making too much potassium and not enough sodium and it affected his muscles]
the main treatment for his condition - other than diuretics, is easy
- glucose tablets before doing anything.
I don't have his condition, just share some of the symptoms, but found the glucose bit interesting [techky - it helped break down the potassium so it passes out of his body quicker]
I'm not sure if I've remembered it all properly, but would be interested if others have tried the glucose lozenges.
this is the programme, the man is on in the second half.
No- but my drink of choice is flavoured Lucozade.. Having been in bed since 5 pm, getting up for an hour between 11pm and midnight, and up again now, I can't say how effective it is. I'm going through an extreme tiredness phase but hip pain and Raynauds are fighting it and disturbing me,
I wish Doctors, Consultants etc.. would understand when we say we have extreme/chronic tiredness. All I think you can do is rest and sleep and allow the body to repair or do it's thing. Mine has won the better of me and collapse every afternoon for an hour to an hour and half! I have never agreed in sleeping during the day (it seems a waste of time to me!) and am a bad sleeper but am knocked out - like taking a sleeping drug!
I use to have the 50 Cal Sports drinks that included all the minerals - GOOD ONE and fresh. I stop it as I was drinking too many a day and not good for my weight!
Did not get my sleep yesterday afternoon and shattered when I got home, bad night up and down and feel completely Bozzeyed today and shattered. Our bodies are in control and let it be otherwise it seems to throw everything out the next day.
