everything tastes of woodsmoke

I have WG and have little but often distorted sense of smell and taste.

At the moment I have a constant taste of burnt smoke and nothing is nice or edible - even the chocolate fudge cake my friend treated me to

During most of 2007/8 when I was undergoing initial treatment for WG, everything tasted funny. Once i was stabilised, thing slowly returned to normal. hope it works for you.

My Mum has little taste but it is returning as her treatment continues.

Hi Sandra sorry to hear that but i go through stages where everyting i eat tastes very salty (: and i have had WG for 20+yrs now . Hope the nasty taste soon goes.

My husband who has WG is on a slowly decreasing dose of steroids and recently Ritux and tells me that everything tastes metallic he is still hungry and has rather resigned himself to losing his sense of taste. I do hope yours returns soon. It's a long haul isn't it?One thing he doesn't like is lemons!

strange thing - I had to go to the dentist because I had lost a large gold crown from a back tooth. the tooth has crumbled underneath so no new crown. BUT the woodsmoke has gone !
