VitD???

I started taking 3000 sublingual spray vit D 6 days ago and yesterday I had more energy than I have had in mts. Could it be that? It is so hard to know when I take so many supplements, sometimes I think that I should have started taking one at the time as then I would have known what is really working. Hope this energy is not just a blip.

I am only on Vitamin D, supplementing since over a year and it's definitely made me feel better, joint pain/muscle aches virtually gone (still weak & cold 'tho - untreated HypoT).

I got tested first and supplemented as I was low, my GP wouldn't test or prescribe anything. J :D

Hi spare rib

Where do you get this sublingual Vit D/ B12?

Also what is this thing about D3 or D2 all the pills I have seen just say Vit D?

So many questions.

Stay lucky.

Hi Cheerful.

I have vitamin D3 drops (ignore the cheap D2 sort, they don't do much) & also got B12 spray from Bodykind, not used it yet, as would prefer a test first, but GP wouldn't. If your GP won't test first you can get private ones here..

My vit D test cost me £25 from City assays NHS lab

(& drops £8 for 3 months). Jane :D

Hi Jane spare rib,

I am due for routine blood test next month, and I am determined to ask for a print out, up to now have thought myself lucky to have T4 quoted over the phone! It is encouraging that you are getting good results.

Thanks for your very helpful reply, all the best to you.

Yes, Vit D is hormonal and can make a huge difference, However, it is essential to watch your corrected calcium, if over range, D has to be reduced, if still over range, stopped. These need to be regular tests ,as can suddenly alter.

Best wishes,

Jackie

I will make sure that I do that. How often do you suggest as I probably don't have any functioning parathyroids. On 2 mg alfacalcidol. I have read that it should be done every 3 mts but I probably haven't had it done more than once a year before( or less)

Foxglove found another test site with Calcium - not sure if it's any good 'tho, I'd try one for £24 but I've only just done one! (be a good comparison 'tho). J
