24 Hour Urine Test Results.....

Hi All...

I've just got my test results back for thyroid. I'm presuming its ok...the results i mean. I am hypothyroid with adrenal fatigue ( although i'm still waiting for my most recent AST results).

T3 was 676 Normal Range: 592-1850

T4 was 555 Normal Range 347-1994

T4:T3 Ratio 1.2 Ratio 0.50-2.00

I was off my NDT for 24 hours prior to the test.

Any views on these results? Am i now considered no longer officially hypothyroid?

Cheers

Simon

Firstly Simon,

Why did you come off your NDT before the test?

The test results show that you are at the bottom of the range, but if you were not on your NDT that may not be why.

Many doctors believe that if you still have symptoms then you are still hypothyroid. Have your symptoms gone?

Hi

Dr P suggested I stopped all meds prior to test so I did. He suggested stoping them a week or so before the test but I couldn't manage that!

Oh no I certainly have symptoms, but ironically I've had my best week ever this last week. I'll be interested to see the AST when it comes back now. More problems could lie on that side of things....

Hi Sporty,

My FT4 was 13 and I know how grotty I felt. You must feel awful. Do you have any evidence taking NDT is helping your adrenal function? I ask because I'm just about to test my adrenal function as I think it is low. I have the kit but I'm in a lot of pain with something else, and I am worried the pain will mess with my cortisol levels.

I never did respond to nearly 2 years of Levothyroxine, and I'm now taking Armour and gradually dropping the Levo. Interesting to see if you are improving to give me some hope :-)

Thanks,

Helen.

Hi Helen

Well to be honest I've never noticed any of the meds or supplements doing any good for me! Nothing I can say, yeah I feel better after taking my ndt, Nutri adrenal etc. I believe I've noticed the CT3M helping ne recently though . That's all I can say I've noticed any improvement with. This time around anyway. Which always says to me it's any adrenal problem I have first and foremost. The hypothyroid being a secondary problem. I think Dr P agrees with me.

My T4 has never risen by much.

So, I'm afraid it's hard for me to say for sure if taking ndt has been better for me than any other thyroid drug. I do know I had my best day ever yesterday! :0) a positive sign I hope! I'm doing to stick with the med and supplement routine I have right now until Dr P tells me otherwise, when he's seen both my test results. I think he'll suggest a small erfa increase....

Hi Simon,

Have you ever tried T3 only medication? Why did Dr. P want you to stop meds prior Urine Test. How long have you taken Armour?
