Have a look at the main Thyroid UK site - a source of much information:

thyroiduk.org.uk/tuk/index....

Some companies help with a small commission to TUK which helps with their meagre income.

Always worth looking on the site when you have a question in mind!

I got my sister a blood test for T3 from Blue Horizon on Thyroiduk.org. They immediately sent by post the necessary item and it was received next morning. All it took was one pinprick on her finger and sent it off by return of post and she got the result by email.

Hi ,Yes I always use Blue Horizon, they are just so good. A doctor looks at them and comments if helpful.Quote TUK 10 for £10 off basic tests and they also have huge discounts for a lot of tests. They use the same labs ( TDL) as all the private hospitals,at a fraction of the cost, just so good. As well known any doc will accept their findings for treatment. To state the obvious, I presume you have tried the GP first?

Best wishes,

Jackie

Hi Jackie

Thank you for the info.

Yes, my own GP might have entertained it a bit but the 'head' doctor at my practice wont entertain me being treated by another doc (Dr S), wont allow any of the docs to prescribe me thyroxine, wont run tests to monitor me and in fact whenever I go to the GP none of them will entertain a discussion about it. I will make an appointment to see the 'head' doctor at some point and have it out with him but at the moment I dont feel strong enough, he is a horrible man and I dont want to go in and make a fool of myself when my head gets all muddled.

HI Gail.,When I saw a Dr. S , a long time ago, I had the same problem but I also had terrible letters every week from my GP saying very unpleasantly that I should not see him! However they still would not do anything for me!No problem with GP now I am seeing an endo!!So, it was only when I started seeing my lovely endo that I was tested for everything , a lot needed treatment too.You are very wise having the tests through TUK etc as not possible years ago. They are just so good and simple.Their Doc also looks at them so if anything way out etc they let you know.

Best wishes,

Jackie
