I'm trying to prepare to see my GP with the hope of a referral. I think my temperature is low but don't know how low counts as low.

I would say anything below 36.7. I'm 35.9 recently! Quite low indeed

Hi Si,Thanks,is this "normal" for you? I've been taking mine for the last few days and it's between 35.5 and 36.!!

I don't think that's normal if the ideal range is 37.0! I'd say I was very low, wouldn't you. I was hitting 36.2's but I seem to have gone lower with recent med increase....

From my own experience, when you have (severe - in my case) hypothyroidism, it's a feeling of being frozen to the core at all times that I felt for years and years before finally a doctor checking my thyroid - regerdless of what a thermometer says.

Oh I don't feel the cold myself. Not one of my many symptoms that :9)

I'm on 150mcg. Levo and had ultrasound on my thyroid this week, guess what it's inflamed. So its back to my GP hoping for a referral. I do feel cold, from chilly to teeth chattering cold. GP appt. not until 18th. Perhaps I am a zombie!

look up the broda barnes basal temperature test - on google or via TUK site - it defines what counts as low and which is a good indicator of hypothyroidism.

I posted a video last week with Dr. Langer's thoughts about the thyroid. His mentor was Broda Barnes who designed the temperature test. He said to keep the thermometer under your arm for ten minutes before rising.
