Adrenal fatique
I have hashimoto's and three years ago after a particularly stressful event felt extremely unwell. I had a saliva test done via the red apple clinic which revealed that my cortisol levels were low. The symptoms (that I can remember) experiencing were extreme lousiness especially in the afternoon, insomnia, hypoglycaemia, breathlessness when speaking, alcohol intolerance, food cravings and nausea. After seeing Dr BDP I started taking adrenal supplements and started to feel so much better. There is additional information on the main TUK website. It is worth saying that in my experience adrenal fatigue is not recognised by NHS doctors and endocrinologists. Read as much as you can to empower yourself and be prepared for the battle ahead! All the best for feeling better soon.
