results of latest blood test 2nd post

just had my second lot of blood tests results back! all the receptionist was allowed to tell me is the TSL was 4.32. Have not a clue what this means, doctor is calling me later today, if SOMEONE could PLEASE get back to me ASAP I would be soo grateful as I don't understand any of this!!! many thanks in advance x

I think you mean TSH is 4.32.

Some doctors will not treat patients till their TSH reaches 10. Your GP may be willing to begin you on levothyroxine because the TSH is getting high at 4.32 plus if you have symptoms of hypothyroidism.

He may phone to say you can have a prescription. This is a link which explains the TSH

Hi I hope that means he also tested T4 and Free T3 as TSH on its own is useless. If not you can have private tests but unless the GP listens probably useless. If not happy I would see an endo but make sure they are good, See how it goes with GP first.I hope you get the treatment you need.

You have a legal right to see your full blood test results. Search Google under "NHS patients have a right to see their records". You may have to put a request in in writing or fill in a form. But the receptionist should not be saying that "all she is allowed to tell you" is one result if there are more, and I would raise this with your GP when you see it next. (Many are automatons, I think "it" often fits.) I ask mine - and consultants - for a full printout of all results as a matter of course now and have never been refused.

I changed my doctor who would not give me my results, and the new surgery always give me a print out when I ask. The new surgery is a lot better in lots of ways and I feel I am treated less like a child, and the helpful character of the surgery seems to filter through to all the staff.
