Hi Does anyone know if having low vit d can affect the thyroid and give someone many symtoms of underactive thyroid, many thanks June

Hi June. Here's an article to have a look at which implies that vit d does indeed have an impact on the thyroid function.

Low vit d is also very likely if you have difficulty absorbing the vitamin e.g. with Coeliac disease. If you have Pernicious Anaemia you can also be low on vit D as well as B12. The auto immune umbrella crosses over a number of diseases which, in many instances, have similar symptoms which leads to a confusing time with getting a proper view of the problem and the correct treatment.
