where you can put in any medication you are and find out what the side effects are and what drugs react with it......I tried the one suggested on here but it did not have my drug on it i think it was an american site?
Am looking for a UK website: where you can put in... - Thyroid UK
Am looking for a UK website
Annamaria,
I have never found a comprehensive web site of that nature in the UK with free access. If anyone knows of one, please post!
If you want specific individual medicine details you can try the British National Formulary (requires free registration):
This site does document the most important and best known interactions but is somewhat limited in detail. It includes all approved medicines.
Individual Patient Information Leaflets and Summaries of Product Characteristics for some medicines are available (free, not sure about registration):
medicines.org.uk/EMC/defaul...
In general these do not give any more information than you get packed in with your medicines. But it can be interesting comparing the leaflets if the medicine is available from several suppliers.
And neither of the above includes non-medicines such as food supplements, most vitamins, etc.
That is why, when asked, I often mention drugs.com - it is at least fairly comprehensive. Using the official BAN (British approved name), USAN (United States Adopted Names) or INN (International Nonproprietary Names) of the medicine(s) - rather than the brand names.
If none of these turn up trumps how about posting here (assuming a thyroid-related medicine)? Otherwise I think you are going to have to do your own research.
All the best
Rod
thank you so much for that information Rod i will take a look
