Hi all, my name is vikki and I'm 33 with for kids, I've gone on here because I've got to the stage that I'm crying out for people to understand how I feel as I no my family and friends love me but they don't understand how I'm feeling. Well here a bit about me long story so I hope I don't bore you all lol. It all started 15 years ago with me getting food poisoning, then a year or so after that I was diagnose with IBS that went on for a few years until I got pregnant with my youngest son I got very ill and was in hospital quite a bit with joint pain, high blood pressure, feeling dizzy but was told all along it was due to me being pregnant. After I had him I was still very ill, I was then tested for other things which come up with enlarge heart, inflamed joints and severe inflamed liver. Finally after all thing I was diagnose With having underactive thyroid, the doc's say mine was killed by a virus which I might have got when I got food poisoning. Since then I've had a lot of other problems with my health which my worst is the pain I have in my joint because my blood result keep coming back abnormal I was diagnose with auto immune disease, I just feel like crap all the time, I feel for my kids and partner because they have to put up with me, I'm fed up with people saying are you ok then me trying to explain and then they come back with saying stupid thing like oh it will get better or the best one I've heard have a drink that will help, or like they turn on to them self and say thing like I've got car problem or stupid other things and I feel like saying if only that was all that I was worried about my life would be a lot happier, sorry to rant can't wait to hear from you all many thanks for reading this vikki

Wow Vikki, what a cr*p time you have had. I will say to a certain degree i do understand what you are saying and what you are going thru', only because I suffer with chronic pain and require opiates on a daily basis to manage and how many people have you heard say "my back hurts" or similar, so like me you probably tend to say nothing to people, friends and family are all well and good, but yes they do have a tolerence limit regardless of who you are, and upsetting them or thinking you are a burden on them only makes you feel worse. I wish I could say there will be a light at the end of the tunnel, but if you are honest with yourself them yu know that there may well not be and you have to carry on, sites like this are good as you are able to vent your anger and frustration and we all understand as I expect most of us have been there as well to some degree. If you want to talk again then email me, I am not certain of we are allowed to give out email address on this site, buit if we can let me know, be strong, remember despite everything you do have friends and most importantly I am sure you have a family who loves you. Take care, nic x

Hi Vikki I am so stunned after reading your post. Please please stay focussed for yourself, your children and your partner. I am so sorry but I am rushing this email as I have an early start in the morning and will be away from the boards until Monday night. I am sure other members who have experienced terrible symptoms like yourself will respond. Take Care xxx

Hi Vikky, I think you'll find that most if not all of us on here will understand what you're going through so you've come to the right place. Chronic illness saps away at your energy and it's truly awful when friends and/or family can't or won't understand how you feel.

Try showing them The Spoon Theory to read: butyoudontlooksick.com/arti... This has helped lots of people get more understanding from family and friends.

Make sure that your thyroid meds are optimal for you. Lots of us plod on with ‘normal’ results when we could perhaps be a lot better with a change in meds. If you post your history and your latest thyroid test results in the Helpvine we can try to help you with that.

You have a legal right to your results so don’t be fobbed off with ‘normal’! Get the actual figures and the reference ranges too.
