Confused - Advice on latest bloods

So managed to get my T3 done with GP. I have still not started levo as was waiting on these. TSH 4.6 (0.35-4.9) was 5.3 last week

T4 15.8 (9.1-17.6)

T3 5 (2.4-6)

What i don't understand is that my T4 and T3 is high. Isn't this good? I need to.be.producing T3 and T4. I thought if TSH was raises T4 was usually alot lower. I am worried that.when i start levo it will lower my T4 as well as TSH.....

I guess my question is does is producing good T4 not better than a low TSH?

My haor is still causi g me anxiety and i can't sleep.

Hi Sasah. I think it is saying, assuming those are free T3 and T4 not just total T3 and T4), that your T3 and T4 are slightly over the middle of the range, which is ok. But your body is having to work to get them there (by increasing TSH levels to stimulate your thyroid to increase hormone production).

How do you feel? If you are generally well in yourself (other than the anxiety you mention), you may be ok for some time. If you are feeling unwell your doctor may think about prescribing thyroid hormones to help.

How were the tests done? First thing in morning and fasting and did they test thyroid antibodies or vitamins? If not, I would ask for an early morning appointment next time. Or you may want to arrange your own tests.

It is nothing to worry about, as loads of us manage their thyroid quite well on here.

My hair losa is aaymptom i would like to sort but alao worried could make it worse on levo

Yes unfortunately it is difficult to be definite on that and there can be multiple causes of hair loss. Not sure of your age but could your other hormones be a factor too (for example, perimenopausal)?

Maybe you need a general consultation to start with?
