I've been on 100mcg of Levo and 10mcg of T3 for 12 weeks.
The advice I was given was to reduce my Levo due to the low TSH reading but the last time I done that my T4 was low and I felt terrible. I am experiencing symptoms of being over medicated so the low TSH is not a surprise to me. I was thinking I should try reducing my T3 to 5mcg but I'm not sure if that's the right thing to do. Any advice would be much appreciated.
You aren't biochemically overmedicated because FT4 is only just over range and FT3 is not even in the upper third of range. TSH is mildly below range but TSH doesn't cause symptoms of overmedication. You could skip Levothyroxine and T3 doses for a day or two to wash out some of the T4 and T3 and resume 100mcg Levothyroxine and 5mcg T3 to see whether symptoms improve.
The tests were done privately and the advice that was given was based on me having graves disease. Thanks Clutter I will defiantly take your advice and see how I get on from there.
Yes the advice was to reduce my Levo if I was experiencing hyperthyroid symptoms which I have been but I would rather try what you suggested as I don't function well on a lower dose of levo
Probably wouldn't occurr to them that you are taking T3 a well. Adjusting T3 dose will resolve symptoms quicker than adjusting Levothyroxine dose anyway.
