Happy post....welcome back eyebrows!!

Hello lovely people!

Haven't posted in a while as was focusing on getting healthy again....which at one point I didn't think it was ever going to happen.

But, I'm now 7 weeks into 100mcg of levo and I can't get over how amazing I have been feeling the last two weeks. I'm finally losing weight, walking the dog three times a day, my joint pain is much better, I can stay awake past 7pm, and I actually have energy again which feels amazing. Genuinely the best I have felt in years. But best of all, and I need to share this photo because nobody else gets it 😂 my lovely eyebrows are back!!!

I can't thank everyone who advised me back in July/August enough ❤️ you are all awesome and I'm so grateful for your help, it has been priceless. It's taken a lot of patience, fixing a thyroid issue definitely can't be done overnight, but I'm finally ready to live my life again. thank you! X

Thank you humanbean - it's still utterly outrageous we are left to waste away by our gps, but it was money well spent to get where I am now. I slept most of the summer last year away, I will be enjoying every minute of it this year 🔆🔆🔆

Oh fabulous!! I can't wait to get my eyebrows back!! 😁

And your eyelashes! I can see how much better they are too. I would love to have my eyebrows back, and lashes and to loose the heavy hood of skin that covers my eye lid and sits on my lashes. Nowhere to put eyeshadow anymore.

Well done you.

I wish you could see the full face in both photos, the difference is crazy! I had even developed jowls from the puffiness, i just looked awful. So happy to finally be where I am 🎉

Excellent news! Whilst the missing outer third of my brows has come back with optimal thyroid medication , unfortunately they are not as thick as they were previously.

Sounds so silly, but it was losing my eyebrows that really made me feel insecure 🙈 so this has been my major achievement. Just lovely to feel so healthy again 😊

How long did the outer third of your eyebrow take to come back? I didn’t realise that could be related to thyroid. My mom always had thin eyebrows and I thought I took after her😅

It is a classic hypo sign. The outer third only started to regrow when I introduced Liothyronine to my Levothyroxine dose. Eyebrows still remain much thinner than they were though.

Wow, that is wonderful news 🤗

What a heartening story for as we know eyebrows and lashes are not everything but they are an important part of our well being and a loss may seem out of proportion to some people. A recent blood test indicated that I needed an increase of thyroxine also my eyebrows were being lost at either end! I had always been very happy with my eyebrows so a loss was bad for morale.

I saw an article about the benefits of UkLash and having used it for a while I can attest to its efficacy. All I would add is that it will not happen overnight, so patience is required for a few weeks. Happy regrowth to all who require it!

I had an endo at a large well known hospital state - when I said I had lost my eyelashes yet again - nothing to do with your thyroid quite abruptly - they didn't care one bit and I knew they were wrong I do appreciate that a lot of the problems with these rather obscure symptoms could be that the vitamins and minerals are running low as the thyroid grabs the nutrition to keep the thyroid going but they should know that but they don't - so I repeat again - guys and gals on this site know more about this condition than most of the medical profession.

what great news. I hope my eyebrows come ( outer third) , they’ve been missing for a long time and my mums have too . I didn’t know they could come back.

My increased dose to 125 mg took place last week and I’m starting to take iron, Vit B complex and Vit D .

Such great news , congratulations 🥰👏

I also started taking collagen powder 2 months ago for my arthritis, I'm wondering if that's also helped as my Dr also seemed surprised (i started treatment in Aug, so it was quicker than i thought!). It's just lovely to look in the mirror and see my old self looking back.

Great news you are feeling better. What collagen are you taking for your arthritis? I’ve been looking at collagen recently too.

I read marine collagen is best for joints, so I've been taking one by SkinPep, it has added vitamins and biotin. They always send free gifts and one of mine was capsules without the extra vitamins which is handy, so I take those the week before my bloods. I definitely think its helped my hair and skin too 😊

That's so great to hear 😊 It's life changing when you've felt so bad for so long, then you realise what it's like to be normal again. Don't forget if symptoms start creeping back then another increase is likely needed

Thank you everyone, glad this gives others some hope - especially those like me who want to be better yesterday! Still got some fine tuning to do, and still have bad days thanks to my arthritis. But been lucky enough to have a good rheumatology team who helped support me to get back on my feet and give me some tools throughout this. Definitely counting my blessings ❤️

Life didn't begin at 40, but it sure will at 42!
