I took carbimazole tablets for approx 5 months last year because my thyroid levels went to T4 26.4 (11-22), T3 11.5 (3.1-6.8) TSH was <0.02 (0.30-4.50), I have had a Serum Sodium blood test which is 133mmol/L (135-146), I am wondering if anyone else has had any experience of this,

sorry you haven’t had a reply yet , hopefully my reply pushes it up the board and someone who recognises this will reply 👍
Did you test more recently to see where your levels are now?

I’ve never heard of carbimazole effecting sodium.

Articles suggest low sodium & hypothyroidism are recognised as having an association.
Possibly if the carbimazole caused a sudden reduction or caused thyroid levels to be low for too long this caused the sodium drop.
Did dr treat / follow up with repeat tests / other investigation, or mention it? Often if a single marker tested in a group is slightly abnormal it doesn’t really concern them. Depending on the set of tests / what’s abnormal.
