stopping vitamins before tests

hi there,

I'm retesting thyroid and vitamins (advanced thyroid function test, medichecks), but can't remember how long I need to stop certain vitamins for before testing.

The medichecks advice is to stop anything with biotin for 2 days, but B12 for a fortnight before testing - does that sound right?

Anything else I should stop (along with B12 and a B complex, I'm also taking D+K2, magnesium and selenium)?

many thanks

Ignore the info about stopping B12

But you do need to stop any supplements that contain biotin 3-5 days before test

In week before blood test, when you stop vitamin B complex, you might want to consider taking a separate folate supplement (eg Jarrow methyl folate 400mcg) and continue separate B12 if last test result serum B12 was below 500 or active B12 (private test) under 70
