I have a strong family history of under active thyroid on both sides of my family, my mum has it and all my aunties, and in more recent years both my older sisters have been diagnosed.
I haven’t been feeling quite right for a while now, with most of my symptoms pointing towards underactive thyroid. I had some blood tests last week and they have all come back as normal.
I have private medical through my work and am wondering if I should try and use that for some of the older blood tests (t4 and t3 I think?)
Wondered if anyone else had had anything similar or any recommendations? Am aware that may be completely not Thyroid Related, but I guess I’m just waiting for it to come to me sooner or later given the family history.

Comprehensive thyroid blood tests include both FT3 and FT4 in addition to TSH. With your family history, it’s advisable to have thyroid antibody tests, as auto immune conditions often run in families. It is also advisable to have key thyroid vitamin tests (ferritin, folate, vitamins D and B12)
If your GP is unable to complete all the above (eg if TSH is within range, some surgeries may not be able to access FT4 and FT3 tests), you could look to do this privately, as many forum members do, for a better picture of your thyroid health:
