hyper phase of Hashimoto

I have had a thyroid gland scan and it looks suitably trashed. However it is still in its death throes and I am therefore in the hyper phase of Hashi. My endo wants to put me on Carbimazole. However I feel fine as I am on propranolol which has reduced the annoying hearth palpatations and high BP.

Do you think the hyper phase would do much damage to me without me knowing? Can I hold out until the inevitable depressing swing to the hypo phase?

My blood T3 is high, just in range - on the boundary for max and my T4 is mid range.

Thoughts much appreciated.
