I am new to the hypothyroidism diagnosis and I have improved on Levothyroxine using the Tevo brand. I am seem to be OK with it although I have read here that many of you are not. I picked up my new prescription (they come in sealed bags) and when I got home I discovered it is the Crescent brand and it contains lactose so I know I won't get on with it.
Will the pharmacist change them for me or do I have to go back to my GP? The actual boxes are unopened and sealed.
Thank you in advance and thank you for such a great forum. I have learned so much from reading the posts on this new journey for me.

I very much doubt if the pharmacy will do a straight exchange. Once the items have left the premises there's a chance that they could have been tampered with so they have to be disposed of, not put back on the shelf.I always check I've been given the correct items whilst still at the counter. Before my prescription stated a brand, the pharmacy exchanged when the bag was opened in front of them.
Pharmacies usually don't exchange or take medication back if you've left the store. I was told it was because they didn't know how I'd stored the medication in the one hour it took me to go home, check what they'd given me, and go back.
I always open the bag and check at the counter. I was collecting a prescription for someone yesterday and the brand was one she couldn't tolerate. The pharmacist swapped it over.
Hi no they won't take medicine back once it leaves the pharmacy. Would be best to get the make put on your script by doctor. I had to do that as I was just given any make which didn't suit me. Good luck
