Just wondering if liothyronine has any interactions and if it is necessary to take it at a separate time to Vitamins etc like it is with Levothyroxine? Thank you :-)

In practice you should put 3-4 hours on either side of other supplements for it like Levo.

There is debate as to whether it needs to be away from food - as Levo definitely needs to be - but to be safe we would all recommend it’s treated as Levo.

Because many split the dose throughout the day it can become a minefield. And so there has been discussion about just how close you can cut it when the daily schedule of pulls gets impossible to manage.

Surely it's only 4 hours with magnesium or iron+D3 if not a spray? I understood 2 hours for other supplements? It is a minefield with taking T3 through the day, fitting in food-then supplements. I'd like he clarification if ive got it all wrong;!

Totally what I’m saying : )

For those who are not squeezed . Ie, I take my Levo and Lio all in one go in the morning , stopped splitting my Lio when i found I could, for the simplicity of it. I might hate splitting pills as much as I hate being sick at all! For me the , I have room to leave a full 4 hours or more. Which I would recommend when possible. Although I am cautious over all anyway.

But for the rest who squeeze it in, I agree 2 for the others.

There was a post recently and I can’t recall the details, but I remember looking into it and I was hard pressed to find any proof that Lio was a fussy hormone like Levo. Even with iron… I traced back the absorption pathways and remember concluding there was much more wiggle room than you’d think.

I might try to find my links supporting as much, but yes, when it’s a minefield my understanding aligns with your reply.

I take my levothyroxine at midnight so have no idea what time would be the best time to take T3 - as soon as I get up? Was also wondering about caffeine as always have coffee as soon as I get up!

Not what you're looking for?
