Blood test question

Hello,hope everyone’s well!

Finally got round to ordering another test as I cant keep putting it off

I am currently taking 125mcg Levo (quartered tablet) 5 days per week and 100mcg two days per week (Wednesday/Thursday) along with a quartered 25mcg Tiromel daily.Will taking the test on the days of 125mcg or 100mcg have any relevance on the T4 result?

Took 125mcg Levo this morning at 7am and I will take my quarter of T3 at nine o'clock tonight and will test around 8/9 am tomorrow

Levo is a storage hormone, so what you take today won;t really show up in your blood for a few weeks. It shouldnt make any difference which day you take the test so long as you allow the 24hrs from last dose.

Levo enters the blood quickly and will then show up in tests. It then remains there for a few weeks but It's the symptoms that take several weeks to show up/ improve

T4 is eliminated in around 4 to 5 weeks for people with a normally functioning thyroid. Those with an overactive thyroid (hyperthyroidism) will clear T4 quicker (2 to 3 weeks), but it may take around 6 to 7 weeks for people with an underactive thyroid (hypothyroidism) to eliminate T4.

Its complicated isnt it. The proviso though was that 24hrs was left from last dose to the test.

Testing....

Take T4 24 hrs before test

and T3 12 hrs before test

Suggest you test after 1 day on 100mcg levo

this should help prevent a false high result, though 25mcg difference is not great

I would aim test 24 hours after 100mcg ……if possible
