I am now onT3 prescribed by the endo consultant. I started with 10 mcg and I am now on 30 mcg plus 75 mcg of levothyroxine. My endo appointments are suppose to be every 3 months along with blood tests. Just got a letter to say they have cancelled my end of Feb appointment and have now pushed it forward another 3 months to beginning of June. That will be 6 months in total I have not seen endo.
My last lot of tests roughly off the top of my head was T3 5.2 - T4 20 - TSH 001 or some such.
I still do not feel well. I have had some improvements.
Am I wrong in thinking and also what I have read that T3 should be pushed up every 6 weeks or so until you find the sweet spot? Or do I have this wrong? Any help appreciated, thank you.

Even members with worsening Graves disease, potentially heading for a thyroid storm in a relatively short future, are experiencing frightening delays in seeing an endocrinologist for the first time.
Just increasing T3 dosing is not something that should be done according to a simple formula. It needs deeper consideration.
I'd prefer those who take T3 and might have experiences more aligned with yours to provide answers rather than me fumbling around trying to help.
Thank you hevella. I remember waiting an awful long time to get to see the endo in the first place. I have seen him 4 times now every 3 months. The trouble is I have no blood tests since upping to 30 mcg T3. I know if I go to my doctors for a blood test she will only do TSH which will be no help to me.
Could you email or phone your consultant's secretary and ask them to "tell" your GP to request FT3 - with whatever endorsement would be required for the lab not to refuse?
Recommended that all thyroid blood tests early morning, ideally just before 9am, only drink water between waking and test and last dose levothyroxine 24 hours before test
This gives highest TSH, lowest FT4 and most consistent results. (Patient to patient tip)
T3 ….day before test split T3 as 2 or 3 smaller doses spread through the day, with last dose approximately 8-12 hours before test
Private tests are available as NHS currently rarely tests Ft3 or all relevant vitamins
If you normally take levothyroxine at bedtime/in night ...adjust timings as follows prior to blood test
If testing Monday morning, delay Saturday evening dose levothyroxine until Sunday morning. Delay Sunday evening dose levothyroxine until after blood test on Monday morning. Take Monday evening dose levothyroxine as per normal
Monitor My Health (NHS private test service) offer thyroid and vitamin testing, plus cholesterol and HBA1C for £65
