Hi...sorry to post again, but had a doctors appointment yesterday & my blood pressure was high, so they are getting me to do a home blood pressure monitor diary for a week.
when he went through my blood test results he said so iron is fine, everything looks fine, no anaemia....these are my latest results & annoyingly they didn't do ferritin even though requested...
so here are the results:
serum Iron 18 umol/L....range (6 to 26)
Serum TIBC 52 umol/L...range (34 to 86)
Transferrin Saturation index....30%...range (20 to 45)
Serum Transferrin 2.4 g/l....range (1.6 to 4.0)
from these results can anyone tell me if I should be taking an iron supplement or do these numbers look ok? ....
many thanks for your help everyone, this site is so much help
Also my mcv was low on last fbc test & wandering what I can do to increase that, doctor said they are smaller as opposed to bigger.
I don't really want to have to take iron but if levels should be more optimum then would be good to find out....thanks again listening & helpful comments for everyone on here.
