If you have previously had low B12 levels then you will need to continue at least a B complex continuously.

See link for companies offering private blood tests & discount codes, some offer a blood draw service at an extra cost. thyroiduk.org/testing/priva...

There is also a new company offering walk in& mail order blood tests in London, Kent, Sussex & Surrey areas. Check to see if there is a blood test company near you. onedaytests.com/products/ul...

Only do private tests on a Monday or Tuesday to avoid postal delays.

Theres also Randox who are inexpensive.

randoxhealth.com/en-GB/at-h...

This is quite comprehensive and with BLACKFRIDAY £55.20

Though no folate or thyroid antibodies but better for iron, cholesterol, blood sugar, liver and muscle health.... this is a finger prick test they offer more extensive ones 'in clinic' if there is one near you

Thank you.

I can't see a ferritin either so maybe not so good for a vitamin check.

Maybe this one from Monitor My Health is better. Has active B12, D3, folate & Ferritin +++

How are you feeling as a result of the supplementation? Did you notice any changes (good or bad). Blood levels are nowhere near as important as symptom change (because you can be deficient at any serum level). When you posted your results on the PA forum, your serum folate was above range. Were you supplementing and if so, was it folic acid or folate? It could be that your level was high because you cannot process it well - partly due to insufficient B12 but also possibly because it is a less useable form of folate for you. (Personally, I needed methylfolate in small amounts and B12 in large ones - my folate was high in range like yours and came down with supplementation).

No problem. I just noticed that I replied to your post on the thyroid forum when you initially mentioned that you had family members with pernicious anaemia. As you were struggling with your doctor did you try another GP or just go straight to the two private injections? You mentioned having them at a pharmacy, which is new to me without prescription? Did you start with the jabs or the spray and what frequency for both? Likely that it simply is nothing like enough B12 as yet. Loading doses would be three injections a week for two weeks and with neurological symptoms you should continue to get every other day injections until you stop improving (then reduce gradually). I have been having weekly jabs for months. You just might get symptom relief from the spray if you use enough of it, but it isn't a reliable treatment. (You would have been getting a small amount of probably folic in the B complex). Why did you stop having jabs/using spray and B complex, out of interest?

Hello again ,I didn’t think it worth going back to docs as they said my results were fine .had the jabs through vitajab and took magnesium.b complex and a b12 spray then I was away on holiday for two weeks and let things slide a bit .back on the case again now

Thanks for your reply
