I would appreciate your thoughts on my blood analysis listed below. T4 is questionable.

TSH. 2.67miU/L. [ “ 0.27 — 4.2 ]

FT3. 5 pmol/l [ “ 3.1 — 6 .8 ]

* FT4. 9.1 pmol/L [ “ 12 — 22. ]

Autoimmunity

TGA 77.7 KlU/L. [ “ 0 — 115. ]

TPA. 13 7 klU/L. [ “ 0 — 34. ]

Your TSH is much too high for someone on thyroid hormone replacement. The goal is to bring it down to 1 or under. Your TSH is much, much too high for someone on T3, which usually suppresses it. So, all in all, you are under-medicated.

Your FT4 is under-range, as you can see. That might, or might not, be a problem, depending on the individual. So, how do you feel on these results? So, how much T4 and T3 are you taking now? And how long have you been on that dose?

Folate and B12 are OK. Ferritin and vit D could be higher. Are you taking any supplements.

Thank you for your thoughts, I agree my TSH is Much too high. But a cheerful doc has signed me off as being fine…. TSH 2.98! ( 30-10-24.) !!!!!

Now I wish I was fine, I’m feeling tired most of the time, I’m getting brain fogs, my T4 is the problem I feel ….I'm taking 10mcg T3 + 12.5 mcg T4. [Started in 2018 it’s a small amount but the Endocrinologist put me on this trial as he’d seen in my notes I was subclinical because of the way the initial thyroid problems hit me, I had a spanner in my brain & I lost words, in normal speech. I’ll leave the story there.]

It was the start of brain fogs. They have only returned with a vengeance since I started to slowly up my T4 medication, end ‘23 from 1/2 to a full 25mcg. I had to stop at 3/4 tablet brain fogs increased…

{I’d previously had problems with T4 when I started taking it 2018 to replace NDT. ( Supplier NDT died.) I was on 75 mcg of T4 this resulted in a month of hives! }

I tried increasing T4 at the end of ‘23 Nov then 3 mth test in Feb ‘24 …TSH 2.58 ( During this period I was v cold. v tired, v foggy, depressed, putting on weight hair thinning.)

. My good doc tried 7 months to get a breakdown of my T4 or T 3 results that are given by our health centres lab. No Joy.

Last complete one I have was 4-10 - 23.

TSH. 2.13 FT4. 8.2 FT3. 4.3 hence the upping of T4.

I do take supplements, not many, prior to the Medichecks test I stopped the biotin for 2 weeks.

I have problems with T4! Is it in the Mercury tablets? Where next?

My sister had thyroid cancer. 30 yrs ago she won’t talk about it.

Well, it sounds like T4 doesn't suit you. There's no reason why you absolutely have to take it if you're taking T3 - I've been on T3 mono-therapy for years. The only problem is getting doctors to prescribe enough T3 to make you well. Which is why I buy my own and self-treat. I did have a doctor that would prescribe me the 75 mcg I needed, but he retired so...

I did feel I’d like more T3 but I doubt I’d get more on NHS! Where have you found a reliable source to purchase your T3?

I’ve just had a long chat with the surgery doctor here. He’s very kind and has written to contact my old Endo. We will see if it can get through, so now it’s waiting but with better hope….
