Thoughts on T3 dropping

The last 4 MMH blood tests have shown my T3 falling from 5.9, to 5.5 to 5.1 and now my latest is 4.9 (all 3.1-6.8 range). Any thoughts? Thankyou

What are your vitamin levels

What vitamin supplements are you taking

Do you always get same brand levothyroxine at each prescription

What was most recent Ft4 result

Are you still on 175mcg Levo

I need to do a vit blood test but my last one showed optimum levels. I always have Accord Ievo+T3 is via Roseway Labs. I take Better You D3/K2, igneous B Complex, Magnesium, vit C, selenium via 2 Brazil nuts, zinc, coQ10 2 or 3 times a week+Omega 3, probiotics. So, because my latest T4 was 22 (12-22), I'm alternating 175/150 as the drop to 150 was too much and I felt awful. As we've been on holiday getting some sun, I didn't want to start alternating my levo til I got home but had to take my MMH blood test ready for my Endo appt later this week. I take 15mcg T3 daily, which has been my dose since Feb this year but my T3 level has been dropping even tho T4 always at top end!! I take 10mcg first thing after waking with levo+the 5mcg late afternoon. I make sure I even take my afternoon T3 on an empty stomach, too, and arrange my meals around it.

Just been reading your recent osteopenia post and see that you do lots of walking (good for you!)

Has that been a long term thing or have you recently been increasing the amount of exercise you do?

Probably a red herring but just wondering if it’s a case of you using up your T3 more quickly than you used to?

I've always been a walker and used to run a lot, too+just loved running!! At 75 I do mostly brisk walking these days, interspersed with some running. I try to get an hour a day in+longer if I have the time+having the river walk or canal path to Walk along, its a pleasant occupation! So since the osteopenia diagnosis, I ensure I get my walk in+running up+down the two flights of stairs@home. So I've always been active+get out+walk whether I want to or not! I must say I'd not thought about using up my T3 quicker than previously. Just wondered if, like levo, my body has got used to the dose+T3 needs an increase??

It’s certainly possible. There’s also a possibility that your latest batch of Accord isn’t as potent for some reason. And other variables can include illness—even mild illness.

Thank you. Must say I'm at a loss as to why my T3 has fallen from 5.9 at the beginning of the year to 4.9 and my T4 stayed up at the tip end of range so don't think it's the Accord. I've got another MMH blood test so will see how my levels are in a couple of months.
