I have been advised by staff on fellow forums to take my T3 in split doses. I have tried this for a few weeks but didn’t notice any changes / improvements.
Is it compulsory to take it in split doses. I prefer taking it in one dose in the morning. I have lost weight in the past doing this

No it is not compulsory. There are folks on here who take their t3 in one daily dose. Some folks have to as their system works better when it is flooded with t3. We are all individuals and just go with what you know sits you.
I stopped taking my T3 in split doses when I got fed up of not being able to have a coffee/snack in the afternoon if I wanted one. So I started taking it all at once early morning and I never felt any difference.
There are no rules, it's what suits us as an individual.
Forgive my ignorance, why would you not be able to have a coffee or snack in the afternoon if you split your dose? Are you going with the thought that you shouldn't have coffee within an hour of taking your meds and taking it on an empty stomach?
Yes. I know some sources say it's only Levo that is affected, some talking about both L-T4 and L-T3 just say "thyroid hormone". I'm not willing to chance anything that might potentially affect absorption so I treat T3 the same as Levo.
Thanks! My endo says T3 is ok either with or without food but my dose is so small currently (2 x 5mcg plus 75mcg levo) that I can't really tell plus I'm only 2 weeks into this trial. I will keep the absorption question in mind.
For more than a decade I've taken my 20 mcg of T3 in a single dose together with 125 mcg T4, at night time, as it suits me to do that. There is no obligation at all, to split your daily dose - the best way to take it is the way that works best for you, not for others.
My T3 is prescribed on the NHS. For the time during which it was withdrawn and I had to fight to have it reinstated, my NHS GP gave me a private prescription which I had dispensed in Germany.
It's very individual as you said . If dosing with T4 and full dose T3 works that's great . But some of us find that dosing with more than a certain amount of T3 might just feel it's harsh especially on the adrenals . And make us symptomatic . So splitting T3 doses throughout the day works better .

I take mine in one morning dose also as I kept forgetting to take the split dose because my work is so busy so This didn't work for me and energy levels are pretty good until about mid afternoon - try what's best for you. How much do you take- I've been on T3 for a couple of months and am trying so hard to lose weight - hope it'll happen eventually - good luck
