Most people feel well with a TSH at or just under 1 along with having vitamins at optimal levels so our body can use the hormones well.

Only 2 months ago your TSH was over 8, now it is over 2 so you havent said how you feel but you probably need a dose increase of up to 25mcgs.

Have you tested vitamin levels and now supplementing to optimal levels?

was test done early morning?

TSH over 2 suggests you need next dose increase

Request increase to 75mcg daily

Retest FULL thyroid and vitamin levels 8-10 weeks after increasing

Recommended that all thyroid blood tests early morning, ideally just before 9am, only drink water between waking and test and last dose levothyroxine 24 hours before test

This gives highest TSH, lowest FT4 and most consistent results. (Patient to patient tip)

Private tests are available as NHS currently rarely tests Ft3 or all relevant vitamins

I was on 75 but went over at 5.6 ,

Yes tsh

Prosecco1997 in reply toSlowDragon

In august tsh was 5.6 and t4 was 14.8

So this showed you needed dose INCREASE in levothyroxine after August test

TSH should be BELOW 2

TSH of 2 is maximum it should be when on levothyroxine

Graph showing median TSH in healthy population is 1-1.5

Comprehensive list of references for needing LOW TSH on levothyroxine

healthunlocked.com/thyroidu....

onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi...

If symptoms of hypothyroidism persist despite normalisation of TSH, the dose of levothyroxine can be titrated further to place the TSH in the lower part of the reference range or even slightly below (i.e., TSH: 0.1–2.0 mU/L), but avoiding TSH < 0.1 mU/L. Use of alternate day dosing of different levothyroxine strengths may be needed to achieve this (e.g., 100 mcg for 4 days; 125 mcg for 3 days weekly).

what was range on Ft4

all thyroid blood tests early morning, ideally just before 9am, only drink water between waking and test and last dose levothyroxine 24 hours before test

This gives highest TSH, lowest FT4 and most consistent results. (Patient to patient tip)

Aiming for Ft4 at least 60-70% through range, and (ideally) Ft3 not far behind

How long have you been on 62.5mcg

Which brand of levothyroxine

Palpitations can be a hypothyroid symptom

Bloods should be retested 6-8 weeks after each dose change or brand change in levothyroxine

Suggest you get FULL thyroid test

ideally vitamin testing too

Or put dose back up to 75mcg daily and get FULL thyroid and vitamin testing in 6-8 weeks

Please read my recent post on this very issue of Teva.

The issues reported do NOT mean that Teva is not a good brand. For some, it is excellent.

Thankyou I shall give it a read , it would make it so much easier than having to keep cutting tablets in half , which is quite tricky even with a tablet cutter lol😅

Get bloods retested as been on 62.5mcg for 8 weeks

Get early morning test, ideally before 9am. Only drinking water between waking and test and last dose levothyroxine 24 hours before test

likely to see results show you are ready to increase your dose levothyroxine to 75mcg
