Hi, we’re currently considering a move from the UK to Dublin to be closer to family. I take 15mcg T3 daily, does anyone know the prescription cost is Ireland or if its easier to get a prescription in Ireland then order from another EU country like Germany. Thanks.

There is no liothyronine product listed by the HPRA (Health Products Regulatory Authority). This does not, of course, mean that getting hold of liothyronine is impossible. But it might indeed require an imported product - with whatever barriers that throws up.

I'm fairly sure we have seen mention of Thybon Henning being obtained in Ireland.

Don't be surprised if you get few replies to your question. In the most recent location poll we did, very few members claimed to be in Ireland. healthunlocked.com/thyroidu...

as you would be moving to EU country you could get Thybon Henning from Germany if you can find Irish endocrinologist to prescribe

Do we know that German pharmacies accept Irish prescriptions?

It is not automatic that one country accepts prescriptions from another EU (or EEA) country. Nor that Irish prescriptions conform to EU cross-border requirements.

And it is not mandatory for any particular German pharmacy to accept non-German prescriptions at all.

It would be good to know - if anyone does, please reply!
