Has anyone here been able to source ERFA Thyroid meds in Southern Ireland? Any pharmacy - in any part of the country? I can get it prescribed - but I’m trying to locate a source to fill the prescription..... thanks a lot.

ERFA Thyroid meds - in Ireland?
If you have a prescription, you can ring the pharmacies listed on ThyroidUK's website to see if they can help

Hi Seaside Susie. Tks so much for this. Can a U.K. pharmacy fill a prescription issued by a doctor in another country? My understanding was that they could not? I called 3 pharmacies a few months ago (that advertised on the internet that they carried ndt) but none of them could fill my prescription.... have you had better luck than me with foreign prescriptions being filled in the U.K.?

I don't know. I overlooked the fact that Southern Ireland isn't part of the UK I'm afraid so I don't know how that would work. Maybe phone the pharmacies listed in TUK's article and ask them if they can fill your prescription, if not maybe ask if they can fill a private prescription if your doctor will give you one.

No, that's not relevant to me as I live in the UK and my prescriptions come from my NHS GP, apart from self sourcing T3 without prescription.
If all else fails, you can source Thai NDT without prescription which will be cheaper, and many members find this as good, if not better.
Hi all. I contacted ERFA Canada directly. They don't supply any pharmacies in Southern Ireland. And I called the pharmacies they suggested in the UK - and they cannot fill a prescription from a doctor that is not UK registered..... It is illegal to do so apparently!
Thank you all so much for your suggestions - much appreciated.
Hi Learner, did you try the German pharmacies? I am in a similar position with a prscription from an Irish (Rep) doctor. I assumed I could try the German links listed on Thyroid UK but now worried that it might not work.
Hi CeiliGal. No I didn't try the German pharmacies. I returned to my Irish GP that first diagnosed me a number of years ago and explained the situation to him. He has agreed to write me a prescription on a 6 monthly basis for NDT rather than the synthetic that I started on with him. The NDT brand he will prescribe is Amour (which he says is available in Ireland). I just have to have up to date blood work done each visit before he will write the prescription which is not unreasonable. So it's not ideal - but it's a pretty good plan B for now until I figure out if I can improve on that.... SO CeiliGal - if you're willing to try switching to Amour - this might be a plan B for you also...
