Can I ask how you found out that you had leaky gut? Thanks

I don't know if there is a test for leaky gut, but because of it undigested proteins can cross the blood/brain barrier (through the leaky sections of your stomach lining) and cause mood swings, depression, anxiety, other stuff that I've forgotten (probably a cause for my loss of memory!). A British Doctor is the author of The G.A.P.S. Diet. Gastroinstestinal and Psychological Syndrome. She wrote the book to help her autistic child with his behaviors. It has some great information in it. I could never stick to the diet because your whole family has to go on the diet in order to avoid "cross-contamination" with foods which contain Gluten, and I'm very weak when it comes to diets.

There’s many things known to cause a leaky gut.

Dietary intolerances, nutritional deficiencies, alcohol, stress, lack of sleep, hormonal imbalances, just having autoimmune conditions anything that causes a change in gut.

What can help are lifestyle changes pre-probiotics, fermented foods, fibre, hydration and try to find the causes and eliminate them… if it’s eliminating foods we must put nutrients back that we are omitting…with any digestive issues it’s best to go through GP and get few tests done, if that is coeliac test you actually need to be eating enough gluten for that test and information is on coeliac U.K. website.

Pippa Campbell is a well known nutritionist she might have information on her platforms.

Zoe are looking at gut health their might be something on their platforms as with Professor Tim Spector.

I take Biomel complete gut powder. You can buy it online and sprinkle on cereal or have it in a smoothy.

Keep a food diary to see if you have reactions to any foods. Dairy and wheat are the usual culprits but there are others.

Any bloating, abdominal discomfort, loose stools, tiredness and low mood are all possible indicators

I second L glutamine 👍

Also tried NAC and that works too. I followed Izabella Wentz books and her autoimmune protocol diet which helped a lot 🌱
