I have been treated with levothyroxine since 2007. The dose has alternated between 75, 100 and 100/75 alternate days. GP reduced dose if TSH was significantly below bottom of range, and I would request an increase if I felt worse hypo symptoms.
I weigh 57kg.
Yes, I did mean 70mcg levo daily - I use a pill cutter and micro scales.
The brand is teva.
I was on 75mcg daily before starting T3.
My anaemia profile results could not be taken by Monitor My Health from Monday's draw, so I will post my latest results.
Typical result of being on inadequate dose levothyroxine/T3
what vitamin supplements are you taking
With serum B12 result below 500, (Or active B12 below 70) recommended to be taking a separate B12 supplement
A week later add a separate vitamin B Complex
Then once your serum B12 is over 500 (or Active B12 level has reached 70), you may be able to reduce then stop the B12 and just carry on with the B Complex.
If Vegetarian or vegan likely to need ongoing separate B12 few times a week
Thorne Basic B recommended vitamin B complex that contains folate, but they are large capsules. (You can tip powder out if can’t swallow capsule) Thorne can be difficult to find at reasonable price, should be around £20-£25. iherb.com often have in stock. Or try ebay
IMPORTANT......If you are taking vitamin B complex, or any supplements containing biotin, remember to stop these 5-7 days before ALL BLOOD TESTS , as biotin can falsely affect test results
In week before blood test, when you stop vitamin B complex, you might want to consider taking a separate folate supplement (eg Jarrow methyl folate 400mcg) and continue separate B12
Post discussing how biotin can affect test results
Wow! That is a lot of helpful information. Thank you so much. It will take me some time to go through.
I don't take any supplements. I had lupus and have a kidney transplant so was advised to be careful with supplements.
On 27 Feb 2024, my B12 was 76. But I have had very little meat this year as I was getting a lot of stomach issues. I am also gluten free for the same reason.
I don't know anything about brands - I have always taken whatever I was given by the GP/pharmacy!
