This is all too common I'm afraid and nothing changes - this blog post from 8 years ago.
well done, keep going back, keep querying, keep asking to be moved up the list or for a call if there is a cancellation. Rest as best you can, treat yourself as if have flu, in terms of looking after yourself 🌱
First post your blood results just before he dropped your dose. Then get a blood test while you feel terrible. Yes, I know "he" wants them done in four weeks but that is unacceptable if you are feeling ill. Get them done privately if necessary - although through the doc would be better because of using the same equipment and procedures. Then post the second results. I suggest this because it sounds to me that you have a TSH only doctor and you want to find this out ASAP so that you can change docs. You will waste a lot of very frustrating time dealing with a TSH only doc. Nip it in the bud, get the new blood tests and see how he reacts to it. If he says your TSH is "perfect" yet you are ill and he says it cannot be from your thyroid condition. - just drop him like hot cakes and change docs.
Or ask him what is causing symptoms if symptomatic, he can’t have it both ways can he 💪
Yes, good idea. He isn't going to have an answer because the truth will be most inconvenient. My Endo told me to go back to my GP to find out what my problem was (When my "perfect" TSH didn't cure my symptoms). I did go back to my GP and told him that the majority of thyroid patients that he is expected to cure have problems which are being generated from the endocrinologists mismanagement of their treatment and that the GPs will never be able to cure those patients until the Ends stop creating the problem. My (very good) GP's answer was, "Sigh... I know!" And fortunately for me he took matters into his own hands and fiddled with my dose ignoring TSH. It soon became apparent that I needed T3 - and that's another story.
