I’m a newbie to all this but i certainly need some advice as i feel like im in the dark with my doctors and endocrinologists i don’t exactly know anything apart from having an overactive thyroid which was treated for 18months then went into remission but came back 8months later then thyroid balanced out after the first month of thyroid medication and has stayed stable for 9months and literally within 6 weeks there I’ve went underactive. Has anyone experienced this before? What happens next? The doctor is wanting to stop the meds but needs to go ahead from the endo team first in what action she should take. Is there a chance it could go overactive again or if the meds are stopped it will stabilise. It’s been a very confusing 4 years. All advice is very welcome and appreciated

Do you have coppies of your blood test results from the beginning? Even if you don't fully understand them it's important to have them. You need to know exactly what was tested and exactly what the results were. You especially need to know if antibodies were tested and which ones.
So, if you haven't got them already, ask at reception for print-outs for as far back as possible. It is your legal right to have them, they can't refuse.
Then, post them here, with the ranges - ranges are very important because they vary from lab to lab - and we can help you understand them. But, without those numbers, it's difficult to advise or explain what is going on, because we don't know. There are several possibilities.
Heyyy, I’ve zero results but I will certainly get a print out of them as soon as I can and post them. Hopefully I can get a better understanding on here of what’s actually going on. Thank you 😊
So I’m currently taking carbimazole, the dose I’m on is 10mg. Another member on this had said to me about the blood test results and antibodies test that I need to get the print out and put it up on here so you guys can help me understand things more. I am waiting on doctor contacting me back today so I will request print outs asap and upload them onto this platform. Thank you 😊
that’s perfect thank you, hopefully we can shed some light on all of this. Am sure we would all love to find a solution but I know I really don’t want have to go down the RAI or surgery route 😔willing to try everything else out there first 🤓
