overactive thryriod

Have you been on 5mg for 7 years, since (since last post?)
Seems a long time to be stable & then need 4x the dose.
What was the decision to increased based on ? Low TSH or over range FT4 & FT3.
TSH is not a reliable measure, so you need to ensure the constant ant is going by FT4 & FT3.
Do you have any copies of results with lab range.
What is the cause of your hyper?
PSpiderweb or cobwebs in vision are usually caused by a harmless process called posterior vitreous detachment (PVD), where the gel inside your eyes changes. If sudden or severe it can be associated with retinal detachment but this is not associated with thyroid or thyroid eye disease.
no over the years it has been increased to 10 m which I was on till about a year then had bloods done then consultant advised to go on to 20 m I’m not sure what the ranges mean as I don’t see any results just a phone consultation to say if meds are to be increased or decreased due for blood tests again in April then telephone triage with consultant in June
Are the blood tests arranged by hospital or GP?
Contact the reception of practice or hospital department & request a printed copy of results.
Results are rarely explained, you have to request them.
You are legally entitled to see them once Doctor has viewed them. Therefore you might expect staff wish to check first.
They should not question why but if they do you simply say you want them “for your records”Some practices offer online access to medical record, but this takes time to set up and doesn’t not include hospital held record & tests.
Hello Dynamic :
I have Graves Disease and went through RAI thyroid ablation back in 2005 - though well on the Carbimazole I was told it was too dangerous to stay on long term and given a toxic substance to drink instead !!
Yes I deeply regret not questioning and simply following the mainstream medical advice.
