CT3M Method - some questions

I shared recently that I hadn’t been feeling quite as good on my T3 recently as I had earlier on in my treatment (which started just over a couple of years ago). With that in mind, I decided to re-read Paul Robinson’s excellent Recovering with T3 book, and the section on circadian T3 (or CT3M) resonated.

I had a cortisol blood test earlier this year which was sub-optimal, though a subsequent short synacthen test did rule out Addisons. I just had a couple of questions for anyone who has tried, and ideally had success, with CT3M:

1. How important is the exact time the early morning T3 dose is taken? The window seems to be between 4am and 6:30am in people with a typical sleep pattern, and I usually wake up at some point during that period to use the toilet, but does the time need to be consistent / exact? I can set an alarm, but having one go off at 4am every morning isn’t going to endear me to my wife.

2. How long should I expect it to take to notice a tangible improvement (assuming it works at all)?

Any advice appreciated! Thanks.

Worth giving it a go, I've also got low cortisol blood and saliva though passed the SST, early morning it is at it's best and I've been taking my T3 & 4 between 4-6am (pee time so it varies) I've found this to be the most effective time having tried various timings and dose split etc.... then on waking around 7am I take some adrenal cortex

I wouldn't risk an alarm as that would upset your sleep which is so important and your wife could well be driven to violence or the spare room 🙃

I am in a similar situation to you. I don't have Paul's book, but have decided to try taking my T3 at around 4-5am. I'm often naturally awake at 2 or 3am but not at 4pm. So I have set an alarm for the last 3 days. It is very subjective but despite the alarm disturbing me, and the fact that it takes me about half an hour to get back to sleep, I have felt more awake at about 8am than I usually do.

I am not enjoying the alarm so not keen to continue this long term, but wondering whether I could take it in the night if I wake naturally, but if I don't wake then take it at 7am instead. I don't know if this is too inconsistent for T3.
