Recommended that all thyroid blood tests early morning, ideally just before 9am, only drink water between waking and test and last dose levothyroxine 24 hours before test
This gives highest TSH, lowest FT4 and most consistent results. (Patient to patient tip)
Medichecks and BH also offer private blood draw at clinic near you, or private nurse to your own home…..for an extra fee
Fungal infection is a consequence of hypothyroidism. In addition to taking thyroid hormone supplements, you should also take an antifungal agent such as oreganol super streng p73. Fungi are tolerant of oxygen. As a result, the body needs to be supplied with a high level of CO2, which can be obtained by taking T3, fructose, bicarbonate in fruit juice, carbonated water and breathing into a bag for 2 minutes several times a day. Oxidation of the butyrate found in butter consumes large quantities of oxygen. The metabolism of cells, i.e. the way they produce energy, changes the environment, affecting the types of bacteria that can thrive. Even if you repair temporarily with a supplement, if you don't correct the underlying low-energy condition that led to high oxygen and infection, there's a good chance it will fail. For diet, I recommend Kate deering's book
Have you tried changing your diet? You mention hypothyroidism - if it is autoimmune (i.e. hashimoto's) you may find changing your diet to eliminate inflammatory foods / foods that trigger you could help. I had severe fatigue but since changing my diet I've been relatively back to normal (my big trigger is gluten and I'm on a version of the AIP diet). Also regarding the fungal infection - be aware that you also need to wash all clothing that has been in contact with the infected area as the spores can linger on cloth (so you could reinfect yourself). I added tea tree and lavender oil drops to all my laundry (natural antifungal for clothes you can't wash on a high heat and/or iron).
for one I appogeise for how long my reply been. But Been in great place at all I given up n just can't feel or see any greatness anymore in all this not sure what hypothyroidism I have if it's even he done what's urs called only had anti bodies test not long ago @
Hello - am I right in thinking you have had RAI thyroid ablation for Graves Disease ?
If that is the case you have Primary hypothyroidism - all hypothyroidism is treated the same way which is with thyroid hormone replacement and we are started on T4 - Levothyroxine in the UK - and we must be dosed and monitored on our Free T3 and Free T4 readings and not a TSH - which is a very unreliable measure when you haven't a thyroid and have Graves Disease.
I've also had my fair share of depression and at one point thought I was dealing with dementia - but through reading things several times and writing out all I thought I needed to remember ( I'm dyslexic ) I am now doing much better - though still wish I had never been given this toxic substance to drink down
I need to keep my ferritin, folate, B12 and vitamin D at good strong levels within their ranges and I now am able to keep my T3 at a good high level in the range and feel much improed to where I was some years ago.
We do now have some research which acknowledges the situation and do not understand why it is still a first line treatment in what we understand to be a health care setting.
