After the help and advice I received on here I contacted my doctors I have today received a reply to go to see him face to face. His earliest appointment it 20th of August. On my nhs app he has added some notes which I will attach. They seem to imply that there isn't much wrong with my results from my blood tests which were. TSH 0.97

Serum Ferritin 21

B12 272

Serum foliate 5.2

Serum magnesium 0.80

Serum urea 7.0

Liver Serum total bilirubin level 6

Well, you haven't give us any ranges, but your folate, ferritin and B12 look dire, far too low! But the problem is, doctors know nothing about nutrients. If it's anywhere in-range it has to be good is their way of thinking. You should be tested for Pernicious Anemia and have a full iron panel, in an ideal world.

Yes, that's the range, the numbers in brackets (190-910). So, you can see that yours is very low.

No point in testing magnesium, the results aren't reliable due to the way the body handles magnesium.

TSH is where you would expect it to be in someone with no thyroid problems (euthyroid). But that doesn't mean very much and doesn't always mean there isn't a thyroid problem. To get a true diagnosis, it has to be looked at in conjunction with thyroid hormone levels - FT4 and FT3. TSH is a pituitary hormone.

Other things look OK. :)

Thankyou it's confusing when it says abnormal against them all. Do you think 200mg of ferrous sulphate is enough to cover what my results show and thankyou for your advice

I can't see anywhere where it says abnormal.

I'm afraid I can't advise about iron because I know nothing about it. Sorry.

OK, but 'abnormal' doesn't mean much, anymore than 'normal ' does. It's just someone's opinion and can cover everything from one point under range to triple the range. But as a general rule, if something is in-range it's marked 'normal' whether it is or it isn't, and if it's marked 'abnormal' then it could be anything.
