These are my bloods from Jan past….. (due to get them updated shortly) ….but just wanted to know what your thoughts on these are please? I’m not converting T4 to T3 and really struggling. Your thoughts on iron, ferritin etc please would be greatly appreciated. I was given a trial of low dose T3 along with my 50mcg of T4 but I couldn’t tolerate it at all!
Is there something I’m missing?
These are my 4 point cortisol saliva results from last week.
CORTISOL - WAKING
< 20.3 R
18.4
nmol/L
CORTISOL - 12:00
1.6 - 5.6 R
8.25
nmol/L
CORTISOL - 16:00
< 6.94 R
2.79
nmol/L
CORTISOL - BEFORE BED
< 7.56 R
<1.5
Many thanks

So your fT3 was rather good compared to your very low fT4, did you increase your T4 dose after these results? 50mcg is a starter/ child's dose, all your other results look good
It doesn't look like you have a conversion issue you just don't have enough T4 in your system so adding T3 was likely a bit of a shock to the system at this early stage, didn't you only start on T4 earlier this year? Need to gradually work up to a full replacement dose (fT4 around 80%) and then we can see how well you convert
Often increases make you feel grim whilst the body readjusts, usually around week 4-5 and then it passes
Free T4 (fT4) 16 pmol/L (12 - 22) 40.0%
Free T3 (fT3) 3.7 pmol/L (3.1 - 6.8) 16.2%
T4:T3 Ratio 4.324
Perhaps raise it more slowly or split the T4 dose and see what is does but if your conversion isn't good you'd still want fT4 around 70% before adding any T3
If you try changing things too quickly it can set you back so giving changes a chance to settle is all part of it, sticking with 6-8 weeks without changes and then testing
Thank you Tigger really appreciate you responding as all this can be a lonely place and it raises anxiety. I take the 50mcg T4 first thing 8am, will try extra 25mcg - what time do you think I could try that?
When you say vits and minerals, which ones?
I haven’t had bloods done since the one above last January apart from the Thyroid and cortisol. Thanks again x
