Please help, my levo was upped to 125 in January as my symptoms were not easing.
My TSH after my blood test last week is now 0.146 mIu/L
I saw my dr monday he said carry on with the same meds??
Despite the fact 4 of my nails have lifted from the nail plate, I am exhausted, my joints and muscles ache. My eyes are incredibly dry despite using prescribed drops hourly, I sweat doing nothing, I have an upset tummy and regular palpitations. My mood is low and my anxiety is through the roof!
Have I swung into overactive??

So we can offer better advice, we really need to see blood test results (with ranges in brackets) for:
FT3
FT4
in addition to TSH.
When did you last check key vitamins (ferritin, folate, vitamins D and B12)?
If your GP is unable to complete all the above (eg if TSH is within range, some surgeries may not be able to access FT4 and FT3 tests), you could look to do this privately, as many forum members do, for a better picture of your thyroid health:
Although your TSH has fallen in the last couple of months, with your increase in medication, please be assured you will not now be hyperthyroid. If your FT4 is over range/too high in range for you, you may experience ‘hyper like’ symptoms (eg fast pulse/ tremor/ palpitations). I’ve had similar symptoms when both over and under medicated thyroid wise, that’s why I now only increase/ decrease super slowly (eg by 12.5mcg).
Have you also considered that it could be peri menopause causing increased palpitations/ sweating/anxiety? This certainly affected me!
thankyou. I did privately test my ft3 and Ft4 last year.
I am peri menopausal and on HRT. Frustrated as because of this and the fact I am grieving and so many cross over symptoms I feel constantly gas lighted/brushed off . We all know our own bodies
Well, for a start, that's a physical impossibility. If you are hypo, your thyroid cannot suddenly heal itself and start over producing thyroid hormone.
You could be over-medicated, but that seems unlikely on such a low dose. But to know for sure, you'd need to get your FT4 and FT3 tested. Testing the Frees will also tell you how well you convert. And it could be that you are a poor converter, and your FT3 is still too low, meaning that you are still hypo. A TSH on its own won't tell you that.
The TSH on its own only tells us what the pituitary thinks, not the rest of your body. And the pituitary seems quite happy, but then it's prejudiced, because whatever thyroid hormone there is in the blood, the pituitary gets served first, whilst the rest of the body could be 'starved' of thyroid hormone.
And your symptoms suggest that it is. All those symptoms you list are very often hypo symptoms.
Also, if you were hyper, your TSH would be suppressed. 0.146 is quite a reasonable level. Which is why your GP, in his ignorance, has told you to stay on the same dose. I'd get a new private test, if I were you.
First step is get your frees tested privately again. You are currently on 125mcg levo daily? The last results you posted whilst on 100mcg daily showed T4 @ 49% and T3 just 29%.Like myself you may end up needing to add a small amount of T3 to your levo.No matter what dose of levo I tried my T3 level would very rarely get above 50%.Adding a little T3 has been the game changer for me.Low T3 causes all the symptoms and as you know yourself the list is extensive.
