Blood test units different

For years my thyroid blood test results have used the same units so,

Free T4 pmol/L range 12 - 22 Free T3 pmol/L range 3.1 - 6.8

I have just received results with different units, so they won't fit into my spreadsheet.

Free T4 ng/dL range 0.93 - 1.71 Free T3 pg/ml range 2.02 - 4.43

How do I convert to what I'm used to?

I don't think you can convert them as such. The percentage through ranges will be comparable though.

You actually can!!

I think many of us are used to the pmols.

You can convert FT4 ng/dL to pmol by multiplying it by 12.872

You can convert FT3 pg/ml by 1.5361

That being said…. Check out this amazing site that converts any & all units you might have…. Link to the “T” section where all thyroid ones can be found.

I have this link ibshypo.com/index.php/si-co... which has medical conversions just after the units of length etc.
