So I've had my private blood tests 2weeks ago posted them and was given so much helpful information. I've booked to see a gp at my local drs. I've had the same one for 18 months since all my balance dizziness problem ls started along with alot of other symptoms.
All my results point to hypothyroidism , deficiency in folate b12 Ferritin and vit d. To this point my Dr have done nothing .
After reieveing my results I looked back at my blood work from gp and found the following.
Total white cell count 4.3 range 4.0-11.0
Red blood cell count 5.23 R 3.8 -5.50
Means corps hemoglobin 27.2 R27- 33.0
Red blood cell width 14.3 R11-14.8
I've googled all these and it says anemia/deficiency. Could all these this be causing my dizzyness and balance issues along with my low t4.
I've been seeing same Dr but I have requested a female Dr to see if there is something more she can do and see with my results.
I know this is so vain but the weight gain is making me incredibly down. I've been 8stone for 20 plus years I'm only 5foot 2. I've always gone to gym but have always loved a sweet treat. But since this allstarted I've gained 10lbs and just don't feel like me at all. I walk 8 k steps a day go to the gym 3times a week doing cardio and weights. But nothing I do seems to help.
Is there any suggestion anyone has. Regarding my results and weight again.
So sorry to be so vain. But it's really effecting my mental health alot.
Many thanks 😊

You're over-exercising, by the sound of it. And that will negatively affect your conversion of T4 to T3, which will make you more hypo and you'll put on more weight. Ease up and just do a little gentle walking until all this is sorted.
Oh my goodness really. 😳 so regard this would it still be the case I'd need medication as my old Dr won't give it to me even though all my test have under low or board line low . Its definitely not fat is water retention as my face has become so rounded and puffy too.
I dont supose you know with regards to my blood results if this is also pointing to issues with thyroid?
Pretty certain you need thyroid hormone replacement, yes. Your Frees are very, very low. Problem is, doctors know nothing about the Frees, they only look at the TSH. And your TSH is still in-range, which is why they won't treat.
Your antibodies are high - although not over-range - so you could possibly have Hashi's, but no proof. Do you have a goitre?
It your weight-gain is not fat - and it usually isn't when hypo, it's water retention due to a substance called mucin - they all this exercise serves no useful purpose. It's not going to make you lose the weight.
What time of day was the blood draw for those private tests? Because your TSH doesn't correspond to your low Frees. It should be at least over-range with those results.
Goitre is this lump? I'm not sure what does it feel like?
I would say my face is definitely water retention by middle area well its just fat not sure if water retention or weight gain. How can it be weight gain when I train so hard and walk and eat white a balanced diet I've even resorted to just eating chicken salads it's getting me that down but even that I can't lose anything.
Yes my blood test was take 7.45 am. Oh really.
It's so frustrating even knowing what to do next. I haven't started taking b12 yet or any iron or bcomplex just incase Dr wants to take more blood tests and my appointment is 20th so I did see you should stop taking them a few weekdls before bloods.
Do you think a private Dr would help or would they still say nothing wrong. It's just a mine field.
A goitre is a swollen thyroid. I've no idea what it feels like because I've never had one. But you can usually see it.
Probably water-retention. But water is heavy! It adds a lot of weight.

You mean how can it be fat. I doubt if it is. And, it has nothing to do with how hard you train or what you eat. It's to do with a severely reduced metabolism and the hypo tendancy to extra mucin under the skin, which holds water and won't let go. It's about being hypo. So stop dieting and reduce your exercise level or you're going to make yourself much more hypo.

OK, so your TSH was at it's highest. But with those Frees it should be a lot higher. It rather looks like you have a pituitary problem, rather than a thyroid problem - what we call Central Hypo. But you're still going to need thyroid hormone replacement for life, because it won't get better and will probably get worse.
A private endo might help, but chose your endo wisely. Not all endos are created equal - in fact a lot of them are just a waste of space. You want one that know about Central Hypo. So, write a new post calling out to all those who have been diagnosed with CH to recommend an endo who know what he's talking about. They do exist.
Oh thank you so much for all the info. Actually a lady a while ago thought it could also be that Central Hypo. I'll do some reading about this before my Dr appointment.
Is there certain types of medication for this condition could covid have caused it as I had no problems prior to me having my covid booster. I was diagnosed with Vestibular so I wonder if that is related to that also. I'll do some looking.
Thank you so much that's so kind of you I'll get writing a new post. Thanks again
Oh thank you so much. This page has really kept me sane. It's really makes me so down when you keep getting no where. This page really is such a good space.
