What does it say next to it? It could be anything...

You can take a photo of the results and upload them.

Hi Lisabax, the doctor private not very good it not say any TSH level next to it . And I can't even ask her anymore , she say I need another Consultation , so bad. It say , Thyroid Stimulating Hormone = 0.55. 4.78. Then below it say mlu/ 1. 4.887. Then it say another , Free Thyroxine = 10.4 - 19- 4. Then below = pmol/ 1. 14.34. Thanks x

Can you write it exactly as it appears, spaced the same,

Think it's most likely to be this :

Thyroid Stimulating Hormone

TSH result is 4.887 [ref range is 0.55- 4.78] (mIU/L is the unit of measurement)

Free Thyroxine

fT4 result is 14.34 [ref range is 10.4 - 19. 4] (pmol/L is the unit of measurement)

So Goldengirl69 ,your TSH is marginally over range , and your fT4 is approx 50% through range.

This means your current Levo dose is a little bit too low .... and GP should increase it by 25mcg / day .

To help you understand what the numbers mean :

TSH ( thyroid stimulating hormone) is a message from your brain (pituitary gland) to the thyroid to ask it to make more / or less thyroid hormone (T4) . (T4 is the thyroid hormone made by the thyroid ... Levothyroxine is synthetic T4 that we take to replace T4 from the thyroid , when the thyroid is failing)

On Levo , we are aiming for our TSH to be under 2 / 2.5 at the most , some people need it lower than 1.

When the T4 is too low for the body's need the TSH goes up (to ask for more T4)

When the T4 is too high for the body's needs , the TSH goes down (to ask for less T4)

When we are hypothyroid and placed on levo, it's because our thyroid isn't able to make enough T4 , so then the high TSH becomes a message to the GP to increase the dose .

and this post contains several references all recommending GP's adjust levo to keep TSH below 2 ish: (Show these to any GP who isn't willing to increase your dose when your TSH is over 2) :

what are you taking for your hypothyroidism

Levothyroxine?

How much and how long on current dose

your TSH is too high for someone on replacement thyroid hormones

Suggesting you need increase in dose

Retest 6-8 weeks after any dose change or brand change in levothyroxine

Essential to test vitamin D, folate, ferritin and B12 at least annually

Hi Slow Dragon , yes I'm on Levothyroxine 75mg . I've suspected it's low for years , and doctors don't care . Is my Thyroid very high or Slightly high ? I not understand the numbers. I will go back to doctors and hope they raise my Levothyroxine. Then re- test thanks in 6- 8 weeks. And do a test for vitd , folate , ferritin and b12. Thanks for ur kind help . 🙂 💞

Answering your question from a purely mathematical viewpoint 4.8887 can be rounded to 4.9.
