I would be interested to know if anybody has taken an iodine supplement to support thyroid functon and have they noticed any benefits? I've been advised that it helps to eliminate harmful bromine and fluoride stored in the thyroid gland?

Iodine supplement
Hi, welcome to the forum! It’s helpful if you can fill out your profile, and let us know a little more about you so we can offer more relevant responses.
Have you been diagnosed with anything, what hormone replacement are you on if any, supplements you take, blood tests results, etc.
That info will matter for the responses you get about iodine.
Have you had your iodine level tested?
Do you know how much iodine you might be consuming already?
Are you aware that, for example, levothyroxine is approximately 65% iodine?
I took iodine for a while, prescribed by an ignorant doctor who didn't do any blood tests, no physical examination and didn't even ask me any questions! It was awful! My hypo symptoms became ten times worse, although I had no idea that they were hypo symptoms at the time. And I don't think I'd be in the state I am today - about 40 years later - if I hadn't taken it.
Iodine doesn't 'support' your thyroid. At first it stimulates it and then suppresses it. It is just one of the ingredients of thyroid hormones and you need just so much and no more. As the others have said, get iodine tested before even thinking about supplementing it.
