hi there

my liver enzymes 151 alt max is 35 so very very high - last November were 48. AST 58 (max is 35)

I read that milk thistle can help liver - and help conversion but also lowers t3 ?

I’m

Taking NAC 1800mg and inflammation is negligible. ESR 6 and CRP 0.6 ! 👌

ferritin 121

I've turned around my high ALP & ALT by adding TUDCA 600mg for bile production and L-Glutathione 100mg which is the main antioxidant in the body, no issue with my fT3 & 4 levels

I had a HIDA scan and it was normal.

Ejection fraction of 35%

Xx I’m thinking it’s thyroid related? Or hrt ?

Also when bloods taken - I told them not to test thyroid and she did anyway showing

T4 22.5 (12 to 21) and tsh -0.01 but this was about 2 hours after taking.

No t3 done .

Shall I reduce the t4 slightly?

Thank you

Oh... I had to google that!! 😄

So gallbladder ok, though TUDCA also assists liver function, my levels had steadily climbed since adding in T3, I'd been on HRT for a few years already which didn't seem to affect it 🤷‍♀️ I wonder if it is because I take my T3 as one dose 15mcg, how do you take yours?

As for your T4 I'd think about reducing by 50mcg a week and see how that goes 🤗

intake 30mcg t3 divided through the day.

BUT I had mri showing narrowing of bile duct ? But maybe that’s it. ?? I’m emailing gastro .

I won’t reduce 50mcg that’s a huge drop?

Any suggestions welcomed.

My last t3 result after 8 hours was 5.8 and 6.2 . (4.1 to 6.8 )

alt has been high 117 last time but to jump to 157 is huge. Seeing doc tomorrow.

thank you again for all the support .

I’m totally exhausted and in bed 18 to 20 hours a day. I walk 35 minutes that’s it.

Thank you

"reducing by 50mcg a week" so maybe take 100mcg 5 days and 112mcg (if 112mcg daily is what these results are based on) with fT3 results that high I'd also think about reducing your T3 by 5mcg as it could be that you have gone past your sweet spot?

I thought t3 is not high ? Finally I’m pooping first time since I was14 years old on lowest laxatives. The First time since forever. I’m hesitant to reduce that . Finally ferritin is good. Maybe that’s helping

It may just be too high for you? But I'm guessing you have slowly worked your way up to get to this dose? Yes sorting out ferritin will be a great help

Chouchou1234,

I have found milk thistle extremely helpful (although haven't taken it for a couple of years as all is working).

I think it's down to genetics, according to Tania Smiths blog ..... thyroidpatients.ca/2022/01/...

but read the whole article for understanding that the negatives will not apply to all.

You could try artichoke extract too.

Great I saw a supplement I used to take with this in it.

Thank you 🙏

Because my liver enzymes were high, I have been taking Liverel for a month now. I won’t know how it has, hopefully, helped until I have another blood test.

But it has certainly stopped my acid reflux.
