Hi, Just had my results from Medicheck and they say it is within normal range. Could some of you knowledgable people let me know what you think?

TSH 2.53 min/l

Free t3 5.1 pmoi/l

Free thyroxine 12.5 pmoi/l

What time of day did you take the test?

What are you currently taking?

You haven't given ranges for each test - important as they vary between labs.

Your TSH is on the high side of you are treated.

Your FT4 is low.

Also important to test vitamin D, folate, ferritin and B12

What vitamin supplements are you taking

When were vitamin levels last tested

Plus need both thyroid antibodies tested at least once to see if your hypothyroidism is autoimmune

Are you still taking T3 as well as levothyroxine

Recommended that all thyroid blood tests early morning, ideally just before 9am, only drink water between waking and test and last dose levothyroxine 24 hours before test

This gives highest TSH, lowest FT4 and most consistent results. (Patient to patient tip)

T3 ….day before test split T3 as 2 or 3 smaller doses spread through the day, with last dose approximately 8-12 hours before test

Private tests are available as NHS currently rarely tests Ft3 or all relevant vitamins
