Hello, can you please add the ranges for these results? Also, has your son had any thyroid antibodies tested? Do you have any other vitamin results - I’m thinking B12 & ferritin?

What are his symptoms?

Hi J972 , thank you. The range for Tsh is (.35 to 4.94)

The range for free t4 is (8 to 22)

Vit b12 is 590 ( 187 -883)

Folate <2.2 ( 3.0 to 17)

Ferritin 86 ( 22-275)

Vit D 23 ( 50-125)

No antibodies done .

TSH is very low in range, and the FT4 is getting lower. The next step would be to get his FT3 and antibodies tested. It could be that he has central hypothyroidism, which is where the TSH doesn’t rise to compensate for the drop in frees. But the best way forward would be to find out what’s happening with his FT3, plus antibodies.

Would he be open to having a test done via finger prick at home? Otherwise there’s options in terms of paying for a blood draw.

His folate is woeful, what has his GP said/done about that? And his vitamin D (also dire)?

Just one nodule? Has he had any ultrasounds recently? Is it growing? Does he have any sort of a thyroid diagnosis? Is he on thyroid hormone replacement? You really don't give us much to go on. :)

When was his last test? And were both tests done at the same time of day? Because TSH fluctuates throughout the day. And, the difference between the two FT4 results is not exceptional, variations often occur. So, really we need more data to see the full picture. :)

Hi grey goose. Just one nodule , 6 mm.it’s a few years since that ultrasound. No thyroid diagnosis . This is a January tsh and t4 .blood test. Complaining of fatigue/anxiety My question is , if there is an abnormality in these results ,the tsh has the biggest change ? Both were fasting . Not sure about time of day exactly. I have a lack of knowledge around interpretation of the results. Was not on supplements prior to the test .Thank you.
