I could really do with some advice as to what I should do next. I’m going to see my Endo next Tuesday and my TSH is under the range, she’s going to want to reduce my meds and I don’t know what I feel anymore.
Here’s my last results from private tests from 2 weeks ago …
TSH - 0.154 Range 0.27-4.2
T3 - 5.6 Range 3.1-6.8
T4 - 17.4 Range 12-22
Here’s the one from the docs that the Endo will see from last week…
TSH - 0.13 Range 0.4-4.5
T4 - 12.5 Range 7.0-17.0
I started a T3 trial, they reduced my levo from 137.5 a day to 112.5 a day with 10 T3. I felt under medicated, I could feel my T4 felt too low, hair falling out again and other symptoms back, even with the T3 which gives you a different energy and feeling to T4…I had to plead with her up my levo to 125 a day and stay on 10 T3 a day . They tested my bloods at the hospital after my first 8 weeks on T3 on the lower levo, but they only tested the TSH…which was at 1 hence me having to plead for the T4 increase to 125 with the Endo because she was happy to keep me unwell because the results suited her.
To complicate matters I’m also perimenopausal and am having symptoms that I’ve never felt with my hypo symptoms, anxiety and lack of confidence/ paranoia…so I don’t know how to proceed as they’ve gotten more heightened since starting T3, I’m wondering if the lack of T3 previously has slowed my body down hormonaly and now it’s got T3 its kick started my perimenopause symptoms more because my body is working better?
I haven’t spoken to the docs about the perimeno symptoms yet as I didn’t want to jeopardise the T3 trial and give them amo to stop it… also I know you have to change 1 thing at a time.
I don’t know how to proceed , but I don’t feel like myself….
Any help greatly appreciated
I’m gluten free, test as advised here and take D3, B12 tablets and injections, C, COD liver, probiotics, iron tablets, magnesium and 2 Brazil nuts for selenium.

You haven't said if you left 24 hrs from last Levo & 8-12 hours for T3 before the blood test?
What was the timing?
Even though your Levo has been increased, it hasn't really been increased enough and you really need a Levo dose raise.
Most people on a combination dose need both FT4 & FT3 at around 70% of range.
Have you had your iron tested lately, is your supplement working for you? The symptoms you describe could be due to low iron and also low thyroid levels so its important to know where your levels are at.
What about folate? If you are having B12 injections you need good levels of all B vitamins including folate which you haven't mentioned. Its suggested to take a good, methyl/active type B complex.
Folate - aim for a level of 20. Recommend taking an active/methyl (should say on label) B complex which contains 400mcgs folate (also B12). Slightly cheaper options with inactive B6:
I follow the test advice on here, 24 hours from T4 and 12 from T3, done in the morning around 8:30 or nearest to appointment wise.
I take ferrous fumarate 210mg tablets x2 per day. I don’t always manage 2 in 1 day as I have to set phone alarms to remind me to take everything at spaced intervals for absorption, but I do try.
My last iron / vit B / Folate/ vit D check was December 23
Iron - 122 on a range 30-150 (it was at 17 range 11-307 in 2021 when they put me on the Ferrous tablets)
Folate - 17.5 on Range >7 ( I think it’s up to 35 but it isn’t clear on medichecks)
Vit B - 150 on range 37.5-188 ( I have the B12 injection but I also take 1 ignennus super B complex tablet a day )
Vit D - 64.9 on range 50-250 ( my vit D is always low, I use the better you spray D3000 + K2 and spray the full 3 pumps daily and i can’t get it to go up)
Before I started the T3 in October time my last labs were done in May 23 were my TSH has been just under the desired range at 0.36 (range 0.4-4.5)and my T4 has been at 13.9 on a range 7-17
I wasn’t feeling as anxious or paranoid about things then when my levels were not very high through the range , which was why I was thinking this could be perimenopause symptoms not thyroid…
My endo definitely won’t let me increase my T4 more she’ll want me to reduce something as she wasn’t happy last time when I pushed for A T4 increase. I don’t think my body absorbs any of the meds very well given that I’m never that high through the range.
Vit D - 64.9 on range 50-250 ( my vit D is always low, I use the better you spray D3000 + K2 and spray the full 3 pumps daily and i can’t get it to go up)
So you need more than 3 sprays per day
Try 5 sprays and retest in 2-3 months
Are you also taking magnesium in afternoon or evening
