I’m due to see my endo in a few weeks and I want to be prepared. After speaking to my doctor about wanting to trial t3 (as you previously explained my conversion was poor), I was told it was a lot of nonsense and she wouldn’t listen to me at all. My blood tests show everything is in range so I should be fine. I obviously do not want the same again when I see my endo. So my 1st question is:- as my conversion is poor, what does this actually mean and what are the effects of this on the body? I want to really understand it so when they try to refuse giving it to me, I want answers ready. My other question is how do you do the calculation?
And finally if they agree to t3 should I start with a very small dose and slight reduction in Levo? I’ve heard some horror stories of reducing too much and too higher dose of t3.
thanks in advance

I am now gluten free and dairy free. I did contact thyroid.uk for endo’s near me but there weren’t any sadly so I’m stuck with the one I currently have.
I've had nonsense stated by some doctors regarding thyroid hormones and I believe many haven't a clue how best to treat their patient who is hypothyroid. If you wish, if you click on my name you can read of how I was diagnosed.
Morning efm2022, the strategy we used and was successful was to list all the blood test results that we had from as far back as 2014 including T3 and T4 results which we do as standard for each review now. This clearly showed a consistant conversion issue. We then stressed and focused on symptoms rather than levels to make it about the patient rather than a test level. That worked with our Endo who stressed that it was my wife's body and about how she felt. Good luck.
